An outburst of solidarity. Music can be a relief for those experiencing the disease and for patients' families. In the hall of the Businco Hospital for a few days there has been a piano, a gift from the "Uniti x la Vita" Association, engaged in intense volunteering activity within the hospital.

The arrival of the piano was celebrated with a concert by the musician Stefano Guzzetti. «It was an honor for me – said Guzzetti – to have been asked to play the piano as soon as I arrived in the entrance of the Oncology Hospital». He also expressed a hope: «May his notes be a source of joy and relief for the less fortunate. May music heal suffering and pain." According to Beethoven, «where words do not reach, music speaks». For Miguel de Cervantes, «where there is music there can be nothing bad». On this basis, the piano will be a solid support for patients.

«Music is therapy»

«The art of sounds – we read on the website of the “Brotzu” hospital company – has a beneficial power on mental and physical health, it represents a form of therapy capable of relieving stress, mitigating pain, lifting the mood. Not only that, it can also have positive effects on the physiology of the human body, bringing benefits to the nervous, cardiovascular and immune systems. In a hospital environment it is able to make a difference in the healing process and overall well-being of the patient."

Finally, it is underlined that «the "Uniti x la Vita" initiative is not simply a gesture of generosity, but a tangible testimony of the Association's commitment to promoting the well-being of the community: through solidarity we contribute to creating a hospital environment more human and welcoming."
