Over 350 young people used night buses in the first two days of testing the Ctm night service , between Saturday and Sunday in Cagliari. An encouraging start for Ctm president Carlo Arba, who underlines the potential of an initiative that will be expanded and improved thanks to user feedback. For the moment there are three lines covering eight municipalities of the Metropolitan City, with departures every half hour from midnight to 5am on Sunday morning . The cost of the ticket is 1.30 euros, which can also be purchased through the BusFinder app and on board, with a surcharge.

The lines are as follows:

  • E (External Red): connects the center of Cagliari with the areas where the discos are located (up to Quartu, Pirri, etc.), round trip.
  • L (Litoranea): connects the center of Cagliari with Poetto and Margine Rosso, round trip.
  • 9: connects the center of Cagliari with Elmas, Assemini and Decimomannu, round trip.

The CTM night service was created with the aim of offering an alternative to using the car to get around the nightlife, in line with road safety and sustainable mobility policies. The trial is scheduled to run until June 2024 and could be extended to other lines and other days of the week based on demand. There are security guards on board the night buses to ensure the safety of passengers and drivers.
