New drug discovery, and subsequent seizure, in one of the many goods sorting hubs in the Cagliari hinterland.

During an inspection this morning, the anti-drug canine unit decisively reported a package weighing just over twenty kilograms. With the authorization of the magistrate on duty, the package was opened: inside were 170 blocks of hashish, carefully divided into blocks of five, wrapped in heat-sealed containers and then vacuum-packed. The packaging methods appear to be entirely similar to those already detected in the seizures of the previous days .

The narcotic substance was seized and will be analyzed by the Narcotic Substances Analysis Laboratory of the Scientific Investigations Department to determine its exact weight, quality and composition. Also in this case, the sender and recipient are fictitious ; the investigators of the Investigative Unit are acquiring the electronic tracking data, the travel documentation and the images of the video surveillance systems of the departure hub to reconstruct the logistics chain and identify those responsible for the shipment.

The checks will continue across the board, also in the coming days, in the warehouses of the forwarders and along the main routes of arrival and departure of the goods. The investigations continue to clarify the ways in which such loads are introduced into the commercial logistics circuit.
