After yet another service disruption and the town being left without water, the mayor of Cabras takes action.
Andrea Abis points the finger at Abbanoa: four years after the Cabras overhead reservoir was closed for structural safety reasons, following the mayor's order, extraordinary maintenance work has still not been completed, and the town continues to experience a constant water emergency.
"The sudden interruptions in water supply to users, which cause significant inconvenience, are now countless," Abis explains. "The latest disruption occurred this morning, when the break in the main supply pipe from the Silì plant interrupted the supply to the lagoon municipality. This incident adds to the frequent interruptions caused by scheduled maintenance, network interventions, and frequent breakdowns of the main supply lines, such as those that occurred several times at the construction site of the northern roundabout at the entrance to Oristano, for which the community of Cabras paid the costs.
consequences of the critical issues of that construction site".
The lack of a storage tank leaves Cabras completely vulnerable and exposed: any power outage causes the unpredictable and immediate suspension of water supply to residents, businesses, and other activities.
"This situation is no longer tolerable. Patience has reached its limit. The completion of the work, which has been repeatedly promised, never arrives, and the reservoir is not fulfilling its storage and compensation function. And now the tourist season begins. We expect much better results from the public drinking water management company," said Mayor Andrea Abis, who this morning asked the president of Abbanoa to intervene decisively and decisively in this matter.
