She spent her life last night, surrounded by the love of her loved ones. Today, Cabras bids farewell to Maria Filomena Sanna, born on July 20, 1920: last week she turned 106. A small family celebration was organized for her, complete with cake and a souvenir photo. She had reached this important milestone, becoming one of the oldest women in Sardinia.

A record also for Cabras and the province of Oristano. Maria Filomena Sanna hadn't been in tip-top shape in the last few days, but she still blew out her candles, always clutching her rosary, her trademark. She even joked with her loved ones: "I've finally grown up," she said, with the cake in front of her.

The village grandmother was also well-known on social media, where her beloved granddaughter Daniea Durzu had long been posting videos in which Maria Filomena recounted anecdotes from her long life, always enjoying great success. The centenarian had been a widow for some time. She had two children, Antonio and Ileana Barraccu, three grandchildren, and a great-grandchild.
