This morning a young man risked drowning in the rough waters of San Giovanni di Sinis, in Cabras. The boy was saved by the multiple Cagliari swimming champion Corrado Sorrentino, about to join the City Council in Cagliari, who immediately realized the difficult situation and without thinking twice he dived in.

Difficult rescue given the sea conditions and the strong current but Sorrentino's experience, courage and generosity were decisive in being able to write a happy ending to the story.

The 49-year-old from Cagliari, having reached the boy at the mercy of the currents, supported him and carried him to an area where the waves were lower, then managed to get closer to the shore and about 20 meters from the beach other swimmers threw a rope and a life jacket.

All the details and Sorrentino's story in the newspaper on newsstands tomorrow and in the digital edition
