The decision was made after a resident found poisoned treats, who reported the situation to the administration. The veterinarian who responded to the scene determined that the treats found were potentially dangerous to the animals' health.

While awaiting confirmation from the Zooprophylactic Institute that the presence of poisonous substances is dangerous and a thorough cleanup with the intervention of poison-sniffing dogs, the mayor of Cabras has issued an urgent ordinance restricting animal traffic in that specific stretch.

"In the event of violation of the ordinance," the document states, "the animal's owner may be prosecuted according to the law." The document also states that the Cabras local police and other law enforcement agencies are responsible for ensuring compliance with the ordinance.
