The European “Truck & Bus” campaign aimed at checking vehicles intended for the transport of goods and people has come to an end. From 10 to 16 October, the men and women of the Traffic Police Department for "Sardinia" carried out targeted services along all the main road arteries of the island, with the aim of increasing safety levels and reducing the number of victims on the roads .

Overall, 42 patrols were employed which controlled 131 vehicles . Out of 101 vehicles used for the transport of goods controlled, 70 were sanctioned for a total of 102 infringements following the violation of the rules of the Highway Code, relating to speed, the regulations of the tachograph, the failure to use restraint systems, for the cargo arrangement and lack of documents. While out of 30 vehicles used for the transport of people (buses), 13 were sanctioned for a total of 14 infringements relating to the violation of the rules of the Highway Code regarding speed, failure to use restraint systems and lack of documents.

A total of 167 points were reduced and 1 driving license was withdrawn .

The objective of the campaign is to make road users increasingly aware and aware that during these operations all the Roadpol Police forces of the European Union adhering to Roadpol are working for the same purpose.
