The municipality of Burgos launches another important service: the municipal language desk. The town of Goceano plays the role of leader for the "Boghes de Costera" project, and received funding from law number 482 of December 15, 1999.

«We live in a fairy-tale territory and we speak a language from other times. We have to fight every day to protect and enhance both – declared the mayor, Leonardo Tilocca -. The main task of the desk is to protect, promote and enhance the history and growth of the area, the past and present of the people. Of fundamental importance is to know the use and peculiarities of the Sardinian language, so that the historical memory, the one that is handed down from generation to generation, is given back the merit, the role and the honors sometimes denied, other times, for too long time underestimated".

It will be managed by Dr. Immacolata Salis who collaborates with the "Camillo Bellieni" Institute of Studies and Research in Sassari.

“There are many and many project initiatives that will be put in place – added the mayor -. Initiatives that we have decided to diversify by sector (school, discovery of the territory, collaboration with companies and associations). For the municipal administration of Burgos, these initiatives are a good omen for the cultural rebirth of the entire Goceano area through our mother tongue. We really believe in culture."

"It is an important resource as well as an opportunity that will be able to unite people and countries that thanks to these projects will be able to build a better future within the communities".

In Burgos the language desk is open on Wednesday mornings, from 08.30 to 11 in the office on the first floor of the town hall.
