The Sardinia Regional Council has approved the €10 billion 2026 budget.

The long-awaited approval came this evening during a videoconference meeting of the executive branch led by Alessandra Todde.

The budget can now be submitted to the Regional Council for its passage through the committees, before reaching the Chamber : the deadline is December 31st to avoid the provisional budget, which last year lasted more than four months.

The Budget, worth approximately €10 billion, has little manageable funding, about €100 million: over half of the budget is allocated to healthcare, and the regional healthcare fund is also expected to be increased to match the national budget.

As anticipated by Councilor Giuseppe Meloni, the resources the State owes to Sardinia, €1.7 billion from the revenue dispute, will remain necessary for this budget as well . A meeting with Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti on the issue is scheduled for Thursday, November 20 in Rome .

If President Todde and Councilor Meloni manage to reach an agreement, part of the incoming resources could end up in a budget adjustment to be approved immediately after the Budget.
