The two alleged attackers of Giantonio Mura, the 49-year-old carpenter savagely beaten on Friday morning in Alghero, remain in prison.

This morning the hearing was held in the Court of Sassari before the judge Gian Paolo Piana who decided for both, Walter Moro, 35 years old (assisted by the lawyer Andrea Devoto) and Salvatore Scala, 42 years old (defended by the lawyer Emiliano Alfonso) the validation of the arrest, applying the precautionary custody measure in prison.

The facts date back to Friday 16 December when in via Oristano, in Alghero, in the Pietraia district, Giantonio Mura was brutally attacked with kicks and punches and robbed of his wallet and an unspecified quantity of drugs.

The victim is still hospitalized in the Santissima Annunziata in Sassari where she underwent surgery to remove her spleen. The prognosis remains confidential .

Walter Moro and Salvatore Scala were tracked down by the Alghero carabinieri on Saturday, near Tula, 90 kilometers from Alghero. Their car was loaded with suitcases and they were probably planning to leave the Island. They will be confined to the prison of Badu 'e Carros, accused of robbery in competition and very serious personal lessons.

The two alleged perpetrators are the same ones who, at the end of last October, had been the protagonists of an ambush in the center of Alghero, when two men riding a scooter appeared in via XX Settembre armed with pistols and hammers. Moro had been wounded in the cheek, while Scala had managed to escape. The two centaurs had subsequently turned themselves in to the carabinieri accompanied by their lawyer and are still confined to Bancali.
