Bortigali, Carabinieri puncture their car on the nail-strewn road and foil an ATM robbery.

An ATM robbery in Bortigali failed thanks to the timely intervention of the Carabinieri .

Around 3:00 a.m. last night, the officers were patrolling the town. While driving along Corso Vittorio Emanuele, the town's main street, they noticed a flat tire. They had to stop to check, and discovered that the tire had been punctured by a three-pointed nail, which was scattered across the road .

Then, after a careful check, they discovered that near the Banco di Sardegna there was a stolen excavator , owned by a company that is carrying out public works in the town.

The vehicle was allegedly used to rob the ATM, but when the bandits realized the Carabinieri were on their trail, they sped off in a white van, heading toward the mountains . The hunt for the vehicle and the criminals began.
