Bomb at the Torpè treatment plant, on the wall the words "no gas" and a cross
The explosion was heard throughout the country but did not cause major damage, on the spot carabinieri and police
Bomb attack in Torpè . Around 8.45pm a strong explosion was heard in the town and neighboring ones. The bomb was detonated at the town's purifier in Poju.
On site the Carabinieri, the Fire Brigade and the Police.
On the wall of the tank of the purifier were written with black spray paint: "A Torpè no gass" (with two "s", ed), a cross with another word "boom" underneath. The explosion did not cause major damage to the structure. There are no injuries.
It seems clear from the writings on the wall that the attack is to be linked to the protest against the gas depot under construction in Istrumpadoglios, on the outskirts of the town.
Mayor Martino Sanna is on the spot.
