Fear erupted this afternoon on Lake Omodeo, where a fisherman was left stranded in the middle of the water after his boat's engine failed.

The alarm was raised around 3:30 PM when the man, realizing he was unable to control the vessel and was at the mercy of the currents, contacted the Oristano fire brigade operations room for help.

The Abbasanta detachment team responded to the scene, heading out into the lake in a specially equipped vessel. The officers reached the fisherman, secured him, and escorted him to the marina.

Fortunately, the man appeared to be in good health and did not require medical attention.
