The Court of Assizes of Sassari has sentenced Davide Iannelli to life imprisonment for the murder of Cozzolino, the man was found responsible for the murder of his neighbor. The man's defense attorneys, criminal lawyers Cristina and Abele Cherchi, in addition to announcing an appeal against the sentence, are now asking that the Tempio Prosecutor's Office continue to investigate the disappearance of Iannelli's wife, Rosa Bechere.

The life sentence came just a few days before the second anniversary of the woman's disappearance. In fact, since November 25, 2022, there has been no news of the pensioner. The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has requested the archiving of the investigation due to the hypothesis of homicide. Rosa Bechere, 60, disappeared into thin air after a doctor detected intoxication from a benzodiazepine-based drug.

For two years the prosecutor has charged Maria Giovanna Meloni and Giorgio Beccu with the murder, and then presented the investigating judge with a sensational request for the case to be archived. The two have lived a judicial nightmare, with continuous searches and interrogations. The documents show that the Prosecutor's Office has never had evidence against the couple. Lawyers Cristina and Abele Cherchi now want to know, on behalf of Iannelli, if the investigations have also been conducted in other directions and, above all, they oppose their interruption. The disappearance could be linked to the crime on Via Petta.
