The bishop of Ozieri writes on Facebook to defend himself, Caritas and even Cardinal Angelo Becciu from the Vatican court's accusations against his diocese.

"I don't want to get used to reading in the newspapers that the diocese of Ozieri used the money of the poor to enrich individuals", reads the post by Monsignor Corrado Melis.

In the trial on the management of the funds of the Vatican Secretariat of State in which Becciu is accused, the President of the Tribunal, Giuseppe Pignatone, and the promoter of justice, Alessandro Diddi, reported at the hearing that a proceeding had been opened on the financing of the CEI to the diocese by Ozieri. For other funding to the diocese itself and to the Spes Cooperative, run by the cardinal's brother, Tonino Becciu, the Sardinian cardinal himself is being accused.

"I do not give in to the temptation to be a spectator of the lie that presses on, I said to myself just as the faces of the Caritas volunteers slide in front of me who, 100 meters from my Episcope, work with a rare spirit of dedication and care, at times getting the right moves with wisdom and other times forced to say with a torn heart, I'm sorry, today only this! ", adds Bishop Melis. "Of one thing I am sure: if investigators or those who are carrying out investigations on the diocese today knew the names and faces of the people who made me bishop, Don Mario director of Caritas, Tonino president of Spes, and the whole Church, a nice smile at the announcement that, thanks to the money of the CEI they could work, sweat and hope, they would have other evaluations to make ", continues the monsignor, who concludes:" We reject with force and serenity the blasphemous and scandalous accusation of serving the poor ".
