Beaten to the elderly mother: 49-year-old under arrest in Castelsardo

He lashed out at his elderly mother, after returning home drunk after an evening spent at the bar, repeatedly hitting her and causing her injuries deemed curable in five days.
A 49-year-old from Castelsardo was arrested by the Carabinieri, called by the elderly woman, a 77-year-old who had been forced to suffer repeated violence by her son for some time now.
Upon arrival in the home of the two, the soldiers found the woman, originally from Piedmont but who had long since moved to Castelsardo, with a swollen face. The man, still drunk, was in an evident state of agitation.
The old woman was immediately medicated by the 118 operators and reassured, while the son was handcuffed on charges of injuries and mistreatment in the family.
The judge of the court of Sassari, after validating the arrest, ordered the man to be prohibited from approaching his mother.
