Baunei, a rosette on the Supramonte to remember Alessandro Zaniboni

They returned to Bacu Tattis to lay a rosette on the phillyrea plant where the lifeless body of Alessandro Zaniboni was found. The brother, Gianluca, together with his wife and two dear friends of the surveyor from Grado who tragically passed away in July 2021 reached the Supramonte of Baunei with the assistance of some members of the Alpine Rescue.

On Wednesday, to commemorate the hiker who passed away on his birthday, the group arriving from Friuli followed the same paths that the surveyor had faced on 25 July three years ago before his fatal fall. He had hit his head on a boulder, right at the base of the phillyrea. The body was found on 4 December 2022 by a local young man engaged in a wild boar hunting trip. TO

605 days after the disappearance in the Supramonte of Baunei and 106 days after the discovery, the body had been released and the family had brought home the remains of the deceased loved one for the celebration of the funeral.
