The first stab to the heart, the second to the liver, and then another stab to the side. The autopsy revealed the details of the death of Marco Mameli, 22, a worker from Ilbono, killed in Bari Sardo last Saturday during the Carnival celebration.

Wounds caused by a large blade, a large knife in the hands of a murderer still at large.

No struggle, no defensive wounds, Marco did not have the time or the opportunity to react, as if someone was holding him still while they hit him.

There is no trace of the weapon, just as the knife with which Giampaolo Migali injured Andrea Contu that same evening has not been found.

The examination was performed yesterday at the Lanusei hospital by forensic doctors Michela Laurenzo and Danilo Fois.

The pain

The pain of Marco's death does not seem to subside. His Instagram profile has become a shrine where followers, one hundred more in the last few days, leave messages of affection. As if the internet gave a little piece of eternity. "I'm sorry for what happened to you. Have a good trip on your horse," writes Silvano. "Rest in peace," writes Daniele. The funeral will most likely be held tomorrow afternoon.
