Isolation finally ends for Banari, a small town in Meilogu: after twelve days of incessant work, the section of the 41 bis reopens, after the collapse of the bridge over the Rio Banzos that isolated the town.

A reconstruction in record time, by the company from Ozieri commissioned by the Province of Sassari, to rebuild the collapsed part of the work of art that connects Banari to Siligo. A work resulting from very rapid preliminary studies, which allowed the technicians of the Province and a team of experts to decide to rebuild the collapsed portion in reinforced concrete that could, at least temporarily, restore the distance and avoid the isolation of Banari.

It will be a temporary solution since the bridge will be replaced with another work of art that can contain the flow of the river, a work whose design has already been financed by the Province and which will be followed by the raising of the funds necessary for its construction. Initially the hypothesis of a link road that bypassed the bridge was evaluated, but the technical times, even just for the authorizations, risked freezing that area of the Meilogu for months. An urgent extraordinary intervention was therefore decided on the work of art, to which a structural part was rebuilt with a fast-setting and high-strength reinforced concrete framework. After lowering the water level to inspect the remaining portion of the bridge still standing, the technicians verified that the damage did not compromise the functionality of the bridge itself, and it was therefore possible to intervene with the reconstruction works.

The connection between Banari and Siligo is therefore reopened, providing for an alternating one-way route, with a load limitation of twenty tons, useful for allowing the passage of public transport, buses and emergency vehicles, including fire-fighting ones, as well as the normal vehicular journey . «They were days of great apprehension and difficulty for Meilogu and for the town of Banari - underlined the extraordinary administrator Pietro Fois -. We hope that, thanks to the speed with which we have found the funds for the design of the new work of art, its reconstruction will take place quickly".
