A 35-year-old man was arrested recently by the Carabinieri of San Teodoro for allegedly attempting a robbery at a tobacco shop in the town on March 19th. According to investigators, the man, already known to law enforcement, showed up at the shop on the evening of March 19th, his face covered and wearing gloves. He pretended to have a gun under his jacket and threatened a clerk to demand the proceeds. The reaction of the tobacconist's staff forced him to flee empty-handed.

After analyzing the images recorded by the store's video surveillance system and the testimonies collected, the Carabinieri identified the would-be robber and last week, by order of the investigating judge of the Nuoro Court, arrested him and transferred him to the Badu e' Carros prison.
