A war operation in an urban area, organized with all the trappings of basic military techniques. The gang that went into action last night in Caniga launched a tactical challenge to the police force, relying on an unscrupulous operational evaluation.

The robbers, in fact, took the assault to its extreme consequences using considerable firepower, knowing full well that the carabinieri and police would not have been able to respond while remaining on the same level, it would have been a dangerous firefight with heavy weapons and in an urban area.

The investigations are outlining an alarming picture, for almost 40 minutes large sectors of the town of Sassari were controlled by bandits . An embarrassing situation, considering that practically the same blitzes occurred in 2016 and 2018.

According to rumours, the robbers opened a breach in the wall of the Mondialpol headquarters, after having overcome the external barrier, using explosives, perhaps Semtex. They were aware of the characteristics of the structure, i.e. the existence of a weakest point in the building and they acted there. In addition to the carabinieri, they did not hesitate to shoot at a Polstrada car, which however was not armored like the Gazzelle dell'Arma. Other law enforcement operators risked being riddled by AK47 volleys.

The investigations are ongoing and, again according to rumours, investigators believe that the assault (the third in a "photocopy" since 2016) was prepared in Ogliastra, while the gang members may have been "engaged" in other regions of the 'Island.
