Canteen in fits and starts, barracks rooms to be restored, management defined as "inadequate and not attentive to the needs" of the agents.

The situation in the Quartucciu juvenile prison is "unsustainable", thunders in Sinappe (National Autonomous Penitentiary Police Union), which bluntly calls for a change in management.

«The last issue in chronological order – we read in the press release issued by the union – concerns the service canteen. The staff is forced to bring food from home because the company awarded the service does not regularly supply the goods to cook the policemen's meals."

A situation already reported in early September, explains the regional secretary of the union Raffaele Murtas: «But the management didn't let us know anything, even today the staff had to buy meals at their own expense and in protest they are abstaining from the canteen» .

Then there is the question of the barracks: «The management intended to evict the staff from the rooms; only the intervention of the Department of Juvenile Justice avoided the worst and we agreed on an alternative solution while waiting for some rooms to be restored".

Sinappe defines the current management of the juvenile prison as "inadequate, too conflictual and not very attentive to the needs of the penitentiary police". For this reason "the hope is that a new director will be assigned shortly".

«Like this – concludes Murtas – we cannot go on, in these days we will send a note to the chief of staff in which we will illustrate all the critical issues that have characterized the management of the prison in these two years».
