Lemonade, strawberries, pickles. And medicines. They are inside a refrigerator in the Radiology department of the Microcitemico hospital in Cagliari. A short distance away is a closet: the shelves inside are packed with boxes of various medicines, many of which are expired.
The images were released by the provincial secretary of Fials of Cagliari, Paolo Cugliara, who denounces: «The photos are eloquent: they do not seem to describe an environment where safety rules are respected to the letter. What are expired medicines doing, even for a long time, stored inside an easily accessible cabinet?», asks the union representative.
Cugliara then underlines the anomaly of the refrigerator: "An appliance that should be for domestic use where, under the strawberries, there are boxes of drugs that it is not clear whether or not they are intended for patients. Who bought them?", asks the representative of Fials, "and, above all, is the person who should supervise aware of these possible anomalies?".
