Seventy-eight people checked, 42 vehicles inspected, 8 bars searched, fines, searches, roadblocks and one person caught with 30 grams of marijuana. These are the numbers from the blitz by the police forces that took place this morning in Siniscola, the day after the large demonstration in the square against the arson and dynamite attacks that have kept the country in suspense for thirteen months now .

The operation, which saw a massive deployment of forces, was conducted by the Carabinieri, with the support of a helicopter from the 10th Carabinieri Helicopter Nucleus of Olbia, the Carabinieri Territorial Department of Olbia, the Carabinieri Company of Bitti and the Carabinieri Helicopter Squadron Cacciatori Sardegna. The military carried out an extraordinary control of the territory.

Over 70 soldiers were involved, focusing mainly on Siniscola and the surrounding hamlets. In addition to checking people, vehicles and homes, various sheepfolds in the countryside were inspected, with particular attention to drug trafficking.

The operation's balance sheet shows 78 people and 42 vehicles checked, with the withdrawal of 3 driving licenses. 8 bars were inspected, with complete identification of the customers, and 10 searches and 26 roadblocks were carried out. In addition, 4 fines were issued pursuant to the Highway Code for drivers without the mandatory MOT. Finally, a 31-year-old was reported to the Prefect of Nuoro as a drug user, having been found in possession of 30 grams of marijuana.

Last night, the demonstration was also attended by the President of the Region, Alessandra Todde, the parliamentarians Pietro Pittalis and Emiliano Fenu, the mayors of the neighboring municipalities, the regional councilors Sebastian Cocco and Franco Mula and the President of Anci Sardinia and mayor of Fonni, Daniela Falconi.
