Armed assault on a van on the Olbia-Tempio road: the driver was injured

Attack on a van in the late morning on the Olbia-Tempio provincial road, near the hamlet of Priatu.
Three armed and masked bandits stopped the vehicle carrying cigarettes on its way to Olbia, two got on board and ordered the driver, Francesco Terrosu, 57, to open. The man would have refused, he probably tried to leave and one of the robbers fired a shot that wounded him in the leg.
At that point they fled, without taking anything away, with another van found further ahead. The injured was transported by helicopter to the hospital. His condition does not cause concern.
The carabinieri arrived on the spot, searches are underway throughout northern Sardinia.
The value of the missing loot would amount to several hundred thousand euros.
