Mourning in Arborea for the death of Giovanni Spanu, protagonist, in 2015, of a vehement protest against the expropriation of his company.
The announcement was made by a note released by Sardigna Natzione Indipendentzia, which reads: "On Easter day tziu Giuanne Spanu de Arborea, the head of the Spanu family expropriated of his company in 2015, passed away. Against expropriation started in 2013 following the purchase at auction by a manufacturer of turf, independence activists, artisans, shepherds and many others had mobilized and maintained the presidium for 2 years ".
"On January 22, 2015 with more than 100 policemen - continues the SNI note - the company is attacked and Giovanni Spanu and his family of 11 people, barricaded in the cottage, are forced to abandon their assets forever, their affections and their only source of sustenance ".
"A mythical figure that of Giovanni Spanu - concludes the press release -, until the end he defended his family and his assets by making everyone understand that often the law is on the side of the strong and speculators, which he takes from the poor to give to rich also using the force and the courts. Today, like yesterday, during the presidents we are close to the Spanu family and we renew our solidarity, with them and with all the victims of injustices ".
