Denuto attacks an officer in Bancali . Yesterday morning, an inmate of African origins, with mental problems, punched and kicked the policeman who was accompanying him on walks. Violent conduct against the staff of the Sassari prison by the non-EU citizen is not new. The officer was taken to the hospital for tests , while the reasons for the assault remain incomprehensible.

The news was given by the Autonomous Union of Penitentiary Police through Antonio Cannas, national delegate for Sardinia of the Sappe.
The Secretary General of Sappe Donato Capece comments on the episode that occurred in the Bancali prison and reports again: « The significant presence of prisoners with psychiatric problems has long been the cause of serious critical issues regarding the order and security of Sardinian prisons and the country. The Penitentiary Police personnel are exhausted by the grueling pace of work due to the violent and continuous attacks. And it is serious that, despite being aware of the problems connected to the large presence of psychiatric prisoners , the competent Authorities have not yet been able to find a solution».
