“If you go get any health insurance in Italy, you will be told that it covers any health problem except psychiatric ones. There is a gigantic stigma around mental health issues that has no bearing on reality. Because if a diabetic takes insulin, everything is ok, and if I take my psychotropic drugs before going to bed, do I have something wrong »?
Andrea Pinna , born in Cagliari, 37 years old, now a life divided between Sardinia and Milan, writer and influencer, author of the successful blog "LePerleDiPinna" , winner of the 2015 edition of "Beijing Express", in recent days, during a meeting at the Unione Sarda, he recounted his sufferings related to bipolar disorder. An illness accompanied by bad thoughts when the main road seemed lost. He has not crossed the line thanks to affection (family and friends) and adequate therapies. Gradually, he chased away the "monsters" and regained his life.
But the malaise of the mind is still a taboo subject for which there is not the same attention paid to other pathologies .
“Psychic diseases can not only be treated, they must be treated . I now live a very normal life, I don't seem to have a problem. And yet, if I no longer take the meds, in two, three days I could find myself walking naked down the street or contemplating my suicide . Thus, like a heart patient who stops taking cardioaspirin, he is hit, perhaps, by a heart attack, the same is true for someone who is bipolar. Medicines are vital, essential, necessary».
