A homicide may have been behind the discovery of a woman's lifeless body in a home in Selargius yesterday around 8:00 PM. Following the intervention of the 118 emergency service, the Carabinieri from the Quartu station and company, as well as specialists from the RIS, entered into action.

The alarm was raised when the owner of the property, an eighty-seven-year-old retiree, found the body of a seventy-six-year-old Romanian woman, who was staying with him free of charge, in the courtyard behind his home. According to initial and immediate investigations conducted by the Carabinieri, the woman apparently fell from the third floor of the building in circumstances that are still being carefully reconstructed.

Officers from the Investigative Unit of the Operations Unit of the Cagliari Provincial Command also arrived on the scene and performed technical examinations. The Judicial Authority, based on the evidence gathered and the opinion of the medical examiner who attended, ordered the body transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine at the "Brotzu" hospital in Cagliari, where an autopsy will be performed in the coming days to determine the exact cause of death.

A series of investigations are underway, continuing throughout the night, and the elderly man (who has already appointed a lawyer) who lived with the woman, likely her caregiver, has reportedly been taken to the police station to be questioned. The investigation, coordinated by the Prosecutor's Office, could see further developments in the coming hours.
