The attic of a classroom in the former primary school in via Vespucci, in Austis, collapsed this afternoon around 3.30pm.

The collapse occurred in a wing that had not been used for lessons for some time but was used for recreational purposes. Fortunately, no victims or injuries were reported: at the time of the collapse the premises were empty because music lessons were taking place in another wing of the school.

Teams from the Sorgono fire brigade and the Nuoro headquarters intervened on site, all involved in restoring the safety of the building and assessing the possible causes of the collapse of the roof. Also at the site of the collapse were the Carabinieri of Teti and the technicians of the Municipality of Austis.
