The plan for the creation of neighborhood clearance areas kicks off in Alghero .

The Department of the Environment has decided to set up the first two spaces in the San Michele district , in continuity with the Hemmerle Park, which will serve as tests for the next areas dedicated to dogs. Here it was possible to set up an area of almost 900 square meters   (San Michele 1) suitable for small dogs and one, of over 2,000 square meters ( San Michele 2), designed for medium-large dogs .

At the entrance of both, a sign with the use regulations has been affixed and bins have been placed for the transfer of manure , for which, as for the rest of the municipal area, there is a ban on abandonment.

From the use of the two areas, proposals and suggestions for the improvement of the service will be collected, by interviewing the owners of the dogs on a sample basis. The junta has in fact chosen to carry out a preventive experimentation to the definition in the municipal council of the overall plan of the areas of disgammamento, realizing the first two.

«Access is completely free and the areas were immediately used by many users and their four-legged friends», comments the Councilor for the Environment Andrea Montis .

«Inside the larger area, the Ecotoni Cooperative, which oversaw the construction part, also installed comfortable benches made with recycled material by the guys from the “Never Neet - Young people in ferment” project», concludes Montis.
