In recent days, the staff of the Maritime District Office of Alghero have ascertained the illegal occupation of a stretch of beach equal to approximately 80 square metres.
In fact, a kiosk bar with tables and chairs had been set up on the Maria Pia coast, without any authorization. The Coast Guard soldiers proceeded, on their own initiative, to seize the hut and the equipment, returning the beach to free use.
A seizure "deemed necessary and urgent in order to prevent the crime from leading to further and more serious consequences", we read in a press note.
The legal representative of the company that managed the business was in trouble and was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Sassari. The office of the Preliminary Investigation Judge, sharing the reasons and assumptions of the Coast Guard's actions, validated the preventive seizure report.
