Alghero: period building scarred by the passage of heavy vehicles, the anger of the residents

Residents of the historic center on a war footing due to the passage of heavy vehicles through the narrow and cobbled streets of the old quarter. This morning near Piazza Civica there was a nasty surprise: the facade of a period building was damaged by the passage of a pickup truck or van.

A resident of the neighborhood reported it by publishing the photos on social media. The shopping streets, the most illuminated ones, between via Roma and via Gilbert Ferret, are in perfect order. But in the streets where, at a certain time, cars can pass, the pavement presents war paths.

The real problem, the residents explain, are precisely the trucks which, passing through streets open to traffic to unload goods or equipment, end up deteriorating the roadway, which is unsuitable for withstanding the continuous passage of heavy vehicles.
