The Alghero City Council, led by Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto, upon the recommendation of Roberto Corbia, Councilor for Sustainable Mobility and Local Public Transport, is introducing two new traffic regulations. Pending full implementation of the provisions of Council Resolutions Nos. 380 and 381 of 2024 and the guidelines established in the agenda approved by the City Council, urgent parking regulations will be implemented in the parking lots of the Marino Hospital in Alghero, upon the recommendation of Councilor Marco Colledanchise on February 18, 2025, regarding "Parking regulations at the Marino Hospital in Alghero to ensure priority access for patients and their companions . "

The goal is to meet the needs of those who need to access healthcare services and discourage improper parking. Thus, in the ordinance, soon to be published and coming into force in the next few days, the parking area in front of the Marino Hospital will be reorganized by increasing the number of disabled parking spaces, regulating one side of the parking lot with a parking disc to encourage rotation, and introducing a ban on camper parking.

"This is an initial intervention designed to facilitate people's access to the health services at Marino Hospital," says Mayor Cacciotto. "We will, of course, monitor compliance with the rules. Improper use of the parking area harms hospital users, and this is no longer acceptable. With this measure, we are temporarily addressing the problem, pending a definitive resolution as outlined in the City Council resolutions and administrative documents approved by the City Council."

The second part of the resolution focuses on the reorganization of spaces near the Coral Museum, on Via XX Settembre, and in Piazza Sulis. "This project will address the overall reorganization of existing parking, with the goal, on the one hand, of improving the balance between parking spaces for cars, motorcycles, disabled parking, and loading and unloading of goods," explains Councilor Roberto Corbia, "and, on the other, of enhancing the dignity of the Museum entrance, where parking spaces will be eliminated in favor of a furnished public space available to all."
