Ophthalmology leaves the Marino hospital in Alghero to move to the Civil hospital. A sudden decision, taken by the general management of the ASL of Sassari "without any discussion with the managers of the structures involved", says the regional councilor of Liberi e Uguali, Daniele Cocco, first signatory of a question addressed to the president Christian Solinas and the councilor to Healthcare Carlo Doria.

In addition to asking the reasons for the measure, "the serious inconveniences for Sardinian citizens and patients resulting from the sudden and inappropriate transfer of the ophthalmology structure from the Marino hospital in Alghero to the premises of the Civil hospital" are underlined.

The Sports Medicine clinics will be moved to the premises vacated by the Ophthalmology department, but regional councilor Cocco (together with the signatories of the question) fears that with the movement of the service from one hospital to another, aggravated by the chronic shortage of personnel, it will make "the inefficiencies for citizens and patients even more serious, forced to move and further congest the ophthalmology departments of the hospitals of Sassari and Nuoro".
