After the alarm raised by the CGIL on the working future of the 300 employees of Nobento, the company that manufactures windows and doors in the industrial area of Alghero and which has applied for extraordinary layoffs for 24 months, the top management of the company reassures: no crisis, if anything, new investments. Below is the press release sent by Nobento.

«Nobento Spa is a company rooted in the territory that has always been characterized by seriousness, investments and a constant presence on the market; over the years it has been able to demonstrate with facts that it is possible to do business in Sardinia and will continue to do so.

With a relaunch plan, the Alghero company is preparing to become even more competitive on the market through a new corporate reorganization plan, which became necessary in order to face the new challenges that arise due to the changed market conditions. Thanks to an investment of private funds equal to about twenty million euros, new production technologies will be installed. The technicians are already at work and in the next few days the old production lines will be dismantled to make room for the new high-performance machines. This will inevitably create a slowdown in production which, combined with the downturn in the market at a national level, has led the company's managers to request protection for their collaborators. The request for layoffs - currently being approved by the Ministry - is aimed at balancing the period of replacement of machinery and the physiological national decline in the construction sector, linked to the 110 bonus.

A company intending to close does not continue to invest, Nobento is concretely carrying out the project presented to the area, the Cittadella del Serramento is a reality and the company will continue to guarantee its collaborators, as it has always done. Nobento's investments in the area will continue; attention will continue to training, it is no coincidence that an Academy has been set up; the involvement of schools and young people in the company will continue.

Therefore no crisis, but an indispensable reorganization to allow an increasingly innovative approach, aimed at enhancing and protecting the territory, as well as the people who are part of the large corporate family.

Nobento has always maintained an attitude based on respect for work and recognition of merit towards its collaborators and intends to continue to proceed in the same direction.
