In the aftermath of the terrible road accident that took the young life of 17-year-old Fabrizio Calaresu on provincial road 44, questions are still being raised about the exact dynamics of the crash that left the boy with no chance of survival.
The 17-year-old, riding his KTM 125, crashed into a car of Spanish tourists and then into a lamppost . Emergency services arrived quickly, but all attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful. The prosecutor's office is now waiting to see if it will order an autopsy on the young man.
Fabrizio, a very young athlete and promising taekwondo player , was in the fourth grade at the Paglietti Nautical Institute in Porto Torres and lived with his family in Monte Pedrosu. He was a member of ASD Taekwondo Olmedo, a sports club where he had developed passion, commitment, and talent. His tragic passing has left the entire Alghero and sports community in despair .
The Italian Taekwondo Federation also expressed its grief and condolences to the family. President Angelo Cito, in a message on social media, shared his condolences for the loss of the young athlete, remembering the determination and enthusiasm with which he faced every challenge, both on and off the mat . "In these very difficult times, our thoughts and affection go out to the family, to the teacher, and to his gym mates at ASD Taekwondo Olmedo."
The mayor of Alghero, Raimondo Cacciotto , also expressed his deepest condolences.
