A young specimen of Egyptian vulture born in Sardinia took off.

A novelty: in the past, the permanent presence of the Egyptian vulture had never been recorded on the island, nor had the species nested.

The young man was immortalized by the researchers of LIFE Safe for Vultures, a project that aims to guarantee the long-term survival of the griffon in Sardinia, in a forbidden area of Capo Caccia, in the Porto Conte regional natural park, in Alghero, accessible only to scholars and specialized operators. The individual was born from the only pair that has been nesting in Sardinia since 2019.
