Alghero's Civil Hospital has long been in need of a structural expansion. The proposal currently on the table calls for the construction of an additional floor to the left of the main entrance, to house a modern technological hub, a next-generation operating theater designed to raise healthcare standards throughout the region.

"This is a decision that looks to the future of the community and strengthens the strategic role of the Riviera del Corallo hospital," says Regional Councilor Valdo Di Nolfo, confirming that he has already discussed the proposed project with the Regional Health Department. "Alghero's healthcare system needs structural investments that provide certainty. Therefore, as Alghero's only regional councilor, I have asked President Alessandra Todde to support this expansion as a stable investment in people's health."

The project, developed by the technical team of the Sassari Local Health Authority (ASL), is at an advanced stage, and the file is already being reviewed by the regional government. The resources could come from the revenue dispute funds recently awarded to the Region or from other financial sources. "I thank surveyor Luciano Sechi for the professionalism with which he is following the project commissioned by the ASL, led by engineer Paolo Tauro," adds Di Nolfo, explaining that on the subject of resources, "right here in Alghero, at the Porto Conte Ricerche facilities, I had an initial constructive discussion with the Vice President of the Regional Council and Councilor for Budget, Giuseppe Meloni, two months ago." Di Nolfo now hopes for broad political convergence.
