Drama this morning in the municipal eco-center of Alghero .
A 44-year-old ecological operator, Antonio Rosario Urgias, shot two colleagues and then took his own life : it happened at the Ungias Galantè eco-centre, in the industrial area of the city where the headquarters of the company that deals with the urban hygiene.
It all happened in an instant. Urgias shot the director of the eco-centre, Ivan Cherchi, and the accountant Sergio Florulli, 50, in the legs. Then he dropped into a chair with the gun in his hand and said, "Now look at how a man dies."
The 44-year-old was hired about a year ago by the company that took charge of urban hygiene in Alghero. He had recently had discussions with the management over a shortfall of around 150 euros from his salary which, according to him, would have been deducted for no reason . The man leaves behind a wife and a daughter.
The carabinieri of the Alghero company and the personnel of 118 intervened on the spot. The two injured were transported to the civil hospital.
