Dozens and dozens of defamatory sheets of paper scattered around Alghero in 2023. The photocopies, placed on car windshields and near several schools, provided personal information about a couple with children and made serious innuendos detrimental to the woman.
Among the headlines like "paid bribes" and insinuations of alleged infidelity, Capitan Ventosa, a reporter for the television program Striscia la Notizia years ago, was cited as a "disturaingiustizie" (injustice sturator). The papers implicated him in uncovering the alleged cheating. After reporting him to the police, the perpetrator was identified as a man with whom the couple had already had several disagreements, and several complaints had been filed against him for previous offences.
The man, over 40, was put on trial on charges of defamation , and in recent days in court in Sassari, the defendant, represented by lawyer Elias Vacca, was sentenced to a 600 euro fine.
