Income subtracted from taxation for 120 thousand euros. This was discovered by the Alghero Financial Police at the end of a tax audit of a self-employed worker who operates in the crypto art sector, the creation of digital works of art based on NFT ("non-fungible token") technology .
The investigative insights started from the analysis of an online platform on which artists auction their digital works. Collectors make offers and win the desired lot.
The Fiamme Gialle identified the self-employed worker who had sold more than 20 digital works, paid for in the Ethereum cryptocurrency worth around 120,000 euros. Having examined over 500 transactions, it was possible to reconstruct the undeclared income.
