Fiadel, the Italian Autonomous Federation of Workers, through its territorial secretary Stefano Delrio, has made public the serious situation affecting the municipal cemetery of Alghero , managed by the Barbara B. company. According to the union, this situation presents critical issues that are no longer sustainable from a labor and union perspective .
Despite the initiation of the cooling-off period and an official meeting with the City Council, during which the staff's issues were clearly explained, the company has reportedly failed to take any concrete measures to address and resolve the reported critical issues. The workers specifically complain about the constant delays in salary payments and the failure to implement mandatory training courses.
"We attempted every avenue of dialogue," Fiadel emphasized, "but the commitments requested during the cooling-off process did not produce any tangible improvement."
The union also points out that some of the breaches identified could fall within the scope of the contract termination provisions set forth in the tender specifications , urging the municipal administration to urgently verify compliance with the obligations undertaken. In light of growing discontent and the lack of concrete responses, the union and workers are calling for a strike starting December 12th.
Finally, the employees apologize to the public for any inconvenience caused, clarifying that the protest stems from the need to protect fundamental rights and intolerable working conditions.
