Alghero: Birth Point Still Closed and Pediatrics Half-Service, the Committees' Wrath

The maternity ward of the Civil Hospital of Alghero is still closed and the Pediatrics service works only during the day. The various committees that defend public health return to the attack on the shortcomings of local health care.

"About a year has passed since the management of the ASL communicated that the closure of the birth point was only temporary until April of this year, but these promises have been totally ignored", write Luca Pais, Stefano Campus, Giovanna Passerò and Giovanni Spano.

"The other serious disservice concerns the lack of hospital pediatric care after 8 pm which has created and continues to represent a serious disservice that is no longer tolerable; in fact, after this time the hospital in Alghero does not guarantee pediatric care and this forces parents and children to continuously travel to Sassari. All of this is no longer tolerable."

The New Hospital Committee, the Spontaneous Committee for the Defense of Health, the Blue Bows, Pink Bows Committee and the Committee United Against the Closure of the Marino Hospital have invited the mayor and all the city's political forces to unite to firmly ask the ASL to reactivate these important services.
