Alghero: an illegal factory discovered

An illegal factory was discovered in the center of Alghero by the Financial Police and officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency (ADM) of Sassari.

In the room, over 150 square meters large, the illicit activity of mixing inhalation liquids for electronic cigarettes was carried out.

At the time of the search, more than 15,000 bottles of liquids were found for a total of over 160,000 ml, with their respective packaging, and the equipment necessary for processing the liquids, as well as 93,000 unauthorized tax stamps, ready to be affixed to the bottles .

The inhalation liquid is approximately 927,000 grams, as 1 ml of inhalation liquid is equivalent to 5.63 conventional cigarettes, thus corresponding to approximately 927 kg of processed tobacco which would have yielded more than 164,000 euros on the market.

The goods were seized and two Alghero citizens were reported for smuggling foreign manufactured tobacco.
