The Region, on the strength of its shareholding, must intervene with determination and give clear guidelines to the management of Alghero airport. Regional councilor Marco Tedde says so, expressing serious perplexity about the hypothesis communicated to the unions by Sogeaal to resort to social safety nets for over 200 employees. «A proposal - comments Tedde - which is not reflected in the large numbers fielded by the Algherese airport in recent months. The month of January alone recorded 73,040 passengers, with a + 67% compared to 2022 and + 31% compared to 2019». Data, which according to Tedde, should make the regional political class reflect and react.

In the opinion of the former mayor of Alghero, even the Metropolitan Network, which paid 3 million euros into Sogeaal's coffers, must ask for explanations on the fallout from this important investment. «I am increasingly convinced that the original sin was committed by the Giunta Pigliaru in 2016, when it favored the sale of the majority stake of Sogeaal "in the dark", without knowing the technical offer, i.e. the airport management and development project of F2I», highlights Tedde, who led long battles on the subject against the Pigliaru government in the regional council. «But today we need to look far. And I am convinced that commissioner Moro, despite having been appointed for a short time, is moving in this perspective. We need to redesign an island air transport system that does not exist".

The regional councilor of Forza Italia proposes to put resources into the field, «perhaps those saved in the tender for territorial continuity, to finance new three-year routes in application of the principle of the operator in a market economy (MEO). This is a case which makes State aid "legitimate". If we don't do it now, when? » closes the former mayor.
