Altolà di Salvini at the merger of Sardinian airports. The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport reiterates his confidence in the line chosen by the Region, which challenged the deeds of merger between the Olbia and Alghero airports, and specifies: «The ministry supports the growth of the airports, without, however, there being the possibility of monopoly. We will not allow the island to be used by those who want to do business by distributing the profits elsewhere".

The reference to F2i is clear, which already controls the airports of Northern Sardinia and is preparing to get its hands on Cagliari. "I have nothing against investment funds, but here it's a different matter: you can't give someone else the keys to your house".

PLANES AND TRAINS

Landed 40 minutes late, the leader of the League, who had just arrived in Sardinia, articulates: «We need to guarantee a decent service. And we need controlled tariffs, I support the free market but when someone puts a sign on the shoulders of consumers, we need to intervene".

Railways chapter: «It is unacceptable that it takes more than three hours to go from the north to the south of the island and vice versa. On this front there are over 3 billion Rfi investments, by June 2026 we will reduce journey times by 45 and 35 minutes on the Cagliari-Olbia and Cagliari-Sassari lines. Here not even one of the 417 km of railway is electrified».

THE REACTIONS

"Minister Salvini's words confirm that the Sardinian airport system cannot disregard public policies, which only the Region is able to ensure," says Transport Councilor Antonio Moro.

"After Enac and Anac, the minister puts the tombstone on the project to hand over Cagliari airport, the main gateway to Sardinia, to speculators", add Alberto Bertolotti, president of Confcommercio Sud Sardegna and Fausto Mura, president of Federalberghi South Sardinia, "we hope that on such a fatal issue for the Sardinians there will be no political exploitation, and that the majority and the opposition will march together to defend the right of the Sardinians to be masters in their own home".

Instead, the CGIL criticizes: "The observations on the gap between Sardinia and the rest of the country and on the disadvantages of insularity seem to belong to an opposition leader", attacks the regional secretary Fausto Durante, "but we remember that Salvini is in government of the country and his party has been in the majority in four of the past five years. And above all, for four and a half years, Sardinia has been governed by a majority which includes the League, with the results that we can all see».
