A new high place. This time it is Alessandra Todde who is putting the brakes on the merger of Sardinian airports. «Acting without us would be considered a hostile act to the Region and to the whole of Sardinia», is the meaning of the speech made by the governor to the top management of F2i, the investment fund that controls the Olbia and Alghero airports and aims to put the hands also on that of the capital.

Governor Todde pulls the emergency brake just when the privatization of Cagliari airport (value: over 400 million euros) seemed to have been decided, despite the negative opinions and court orders. Not only that: the new president's "moral suasion" towards the leaders of the other party involved in the operation, i.e. the Chamber of Commerce of Cagliari and Oristano, caused the decisive meeting for the merger to be cancelled.

The integration plan between the three airports on the island provides that the public body subscribes to a capital increase in Ligantia, a company that holds the majority stakes in Geasar (Olbia) and Sogeaal (Alghero), contributing its shares of Sogaer (Cagliari). But the meeting was postponed.

According to the intentions of the public body and the investment fund, the privatization of the Cagliari airport was to be completed by April, something that did not please Todde, who wants all the time necessary to study the papers. The Region risks losing any control over the management of the airports and it is obvious that if the final step were to arrive in these days, it would be interpreted as an act contrary to the interests of the Island. Even more so since various judgments hang on the operation.
