After yesterday's technical meeting at the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure with regional councillor Barbara Manca , the centre-right is attacking the regional council on the new tender for air territorial continuity . According to the former Transport councillor and current president of Psd'Az, Antonio Moro, yesterday's summit " certifies its delay in preparing the new tender for air territorial continuity and confirms the extension of the tender for air connections, launched in the previous legislature". « In fact, the stringent European rules that require the publication of the community tender six months before the expiry of the contracts currently in force with Aeroitalia, Ita and Volotea, i.e. by 25 April 2025, cannot be respected, which must be preceded, as is known, by the inevitable confrontation with the Move and Competition directorates of the European Commission - he observes - The "old tender" that the political forces of the then centre-left minority had represented as a "disaster" for Sardinia and that the broad field, in the electoral campaign for the last regional elections, had promised to cancel, eliminate, overturn and send to the attic forever, will remain the only effective instrument to be able to guarantee connections at a reduced rate between the island's airports and the airports of Milan-Linate and Rome-Fiumicino, even after the expiry of the first extension by Todde, set for October 2025 ». According to Moro, the « revolution of the skies promised during the electoral campaign by those who lead the Region today can therefore wait ».
" President Todde is trying to cover up a worrying delay on the new call for territorial continuity with a series of announcements - attacks Fi MP Ugo Cappellacci -. Regardless of the media proclamations, it is disconcerting that she has not even begun negotiations with the European Union on the contents of the new tender. The picture suggests an extension of the current assignment with the well-known limitations that are being highlighted daily by anyone who has taken a flight in recent months. Who will the presidency's 'buck-passing' office attribute the responsibilities to this time? They had such clear ideas during the election campaign that first they proposed a faded photocopy of the work of the Solinas Council and a year later they still haven't defined the model to adopt. It is unfortunate to have to point out that, according to the only production of the Council in these months, namely the press releases, we are getting close to the deadline without talking about a single tariff, with confused ideas on the right to mobility of residents and even more confused on the tariffs for non-residents and, in particular, on those for Sardinians who live outside our island".
The FdI group leader in the Regional Council, Paolo Truzzu , is of the same opinion, according to whom the Todde government is «stuck at the stake, despite the announcements». «The Todde government has decided to surprise the Sardinians and, after the Government's challenge of the three important laws that it has approved so far, thanks to its obedient centre-left majority, forcing Sardinia into the fourth month of provisional exercise, it has shown that it has no idea even about the management of Territorial Continuity, finding itself forced to continue on the path traced by the previous government. The adjectives of incompetence and incapacity are no longer sufficient to describe the government's action in this first year».
"Despite the obligatory optimism expressed by the Transport Councillor at the beginning of the month, at the moment there are only announcements and press releases, no news and no concrete results - added Truzzu - The delay is certified by the inevitability of the second consecutive extension of the old call for Continuity, given that the new one must be published by 25 April but has not yet begun the long and difficult approval process at European level. After a year, the only novelty of the Regional Council on the subject of transport is represented by the 30 million euros set aside in the Budget for participation in the airport merger process, an unclear and far from indispensable objective".
